Curiosity Comics was started by Isaac Beltrán in 1992. Some of his characters include “Stripes”-1992 (a striped cat... not a Tiger, who is his sarcastic, care-free self and doesn’t know or care when or if he offends), “Giki”-1993 (previously named “Gex” in ’93, is about an upright-clawed Gecko who works at an office with his crocodile boss, and on occasions, about him and his son, Giki Jr.), “Whispers”-1992 (two sisters, an older sister with smart-remarked comments to a younger sister that deep down inside wants her older sister’s approval. Both have two different creature gene-caused birth effects, and all people that have such birth effects are called “Whispers”), and “Timothy Marus”-1993 (or “Timmy” Marus, a child that pretty much speaks his mind... even if it does cost him trouble with bullies or bad grades). Two comics that aren’t on this site are “Bomb slipped on a Banana Peel”-1992 (or, first spelled “Bom slipt on a Banana Pill” in ‘92, Isaac’s first comic, about a walking bomb that always tries to save his wife and daughter from a certain “King Shark” that would kidnap them and transport them to different worlds of different kings) and “Spike”-1992 (Spike was a free-tailed bat who encountered monsters and legends with his friends, “Plecky”, a red-nosed cat, and “Martin”, a dog who was dressed properly in a tuxedo and was very clean-cut but also got picked on by Spike and Plecky because he just didn’t belong in the same group with them). All comics included a series of created creatures that don’t exist which were turned into an art series in 2002. “Whispers” turned into an art series in ’04 and are now on T-Shirts, along with a lot of the creatures from Curiosity Comics. These T-shirts are available from “Curiosity Shirt Company”. You can find the link to Curiosity Shirt Company’s website on this site, or just simply go to www.curiosityshirtco.com.
